The compulsory level 3, 4, and 5 competition season is underway as Wildfire Gymnastics completed its third of six meets of the 2016 season. The Tricks 4 Treats Invite was held the weekend of October 08. By day’s end, and among 14 teams, competing multiple levels each, Wildfire emerged as Level 3 Team Champions, the Level 4 and 5 teams finishing second. Of all athletes participating including every session and age division, four Wildfire athletes ranked among the top 10. Level 4 Addie Anderson was Wildfire’s highest scoring at 37.650, she also posting the highest Bar score of the Level 4 competition including every age group.

During the course of the meet, in total, 155 Level 3 gymnasts competed from which 6 Wildfire girls ranked among the top 7. Ten Wildfire girls finished as top 3 divisional All Around medalists, 4 of them being for Gold. There were 35 Individual Event top three ranking medals awarded as well, 11 of these medals were Gold. All Around Champions include Level 3 leading scorer Kathryn Bayles, (37.525, 1st Bars 9.550), Grace Hassenplug (1st Bars, 1st Floor), Keili Harmston (1st Bars, 1st Beam - 9.500) and Skyler Cazale (1st Beam, 1st Floor). Great efforts resulting in Individual Event Gold were reflective of AA Bronze Medalist, Makena Jarrett (1st Vault - 9.500), All Around Bronze Medalist, Emma Le (1st Beam, 1st Floor - 9.500), Lux Guzman (1st Beam), Sydney Barnhill (1st Floor), Annie Lin (1st Vault), and Logan Welsh (1st Beam).

One hundred and twenty-five Level 4 gymnasts participated here and among them, Wildfire athletes ranked three in the top six. Of those three, Wildfire’s leading scoring Level 4 gymnasts of the day were 12 year old All Around Champion Addie Anderson (1st Bars - 9.675), 12 year old AA Silver Medalist, Ailani Tran (2nd AA - 37.600, 1st Vault, 1st Beam - 9.625, 1st Floor) and Presley Wickman (2nd AA - 37.400, 1st Vault - 9.475). As did Addie Anderson on Bars, Presley Wickman’s Vault win accounted for the highest Vault score of any Level 4 athlete at the competition, including all age groups. From 12 Wildfire girls there were 13 Individual Event top three ranking medals awarded, 6 of these medals were Gold. Included was Arianna Espinoza’s, the 7 year old Vault champion by means of her 9.300.

Sixty-six gymnasts competed as Level 5’s. Ranking in the top three All Around in their respective age divisions were 11 year old All Around Silver Medalist Brianna Nguyen, 11 year old AA Bronze Medalist Claire MacDonald and Bronze Medalist, Amanda Acosta. Wildfire Level 5’s earned 12 top three Individual event awards; a highlight being, Kaitlyn Tran’s showing on Floor (9.625) and Beam (9.750!). Her Beam score shared the highest individual event score of the weekend, including all levels and age groups.
