On Sunday September 13th in Fountain Valley, CA Wildfire's compulsory teams Level 4, 5 and 6 culminated the 1st Preliminary Sectional qualifier. They did this by not only winning first place team awards in each of the three divisions, but also, 11 of the 12 individual team events comprising the competition (Level 6 Bars finished second).

Leading the 4's was Sydney LaMar. While at the same time placing 1st on each event she scored a 38.5 for the highest single All Around total from the entire weekend. Accumulating a 9.4 average, Team Level 4 of '09 came away with its second win this Fall.

Team Level 5's Samantha Gomez (37.250), our premier performer of the division, helped to launch an effort that collected the sum of 27 top three finishes, 13 of them being firsts. Of special note is Logan McBain's individual event sweep, ultimately closing her day as the nine year old All Around Champion. Nicole Katzaroff was our third AA winner resulting in Wildfire gymnasts taking three of the four All Around titles contested. These outcomes provided the means for our second team win of the day.


Wildfire's Team Level 6 proved themselves by ranking 1st in their division as well. Katherine Lubinski kept her streak intact winning her AA with the foremost Level 6 score awarded at the event (37.025). Adding to her effort were wins on both Bars and Floor. Brianne Anderson winning two events as well placed 1st All Around as a 12 - 13 year old, replicating her initial Level 6 competitive effort from two weeks ago.

Wildfire's next compulsory event will be in Las Vegas, NV on September 25 - 27.
